twin or single
hey guys, i have been searching for a wile now and cant find any good info. Is it better to go with a big single (106-114) or twins (88-90)? i have seen this asked befor but no one really gave a reason why they picked one. I have been seeing some people switching from a single to twins and others from twin to single. sorry if this has been asked 1000 times already and thanks for the help.

single turbo. When you're going THAT big it means you're going for a race setup and you will most likely not care about how it spools daily driving, so think about it---would you rather spend the money on one set of parts thats gonna make 1000hp or would you rather waste the money twice on TWO sets of parts(two turbos, two wastegates, two sets of pipes, two blow off valves, etc etc) and STILL MAKE 1000hp? Oh and twice the weight added to the car since its TWICE the amount of parts generally speaking....its all relative but i say stop asking questions and go straight to single. It will easily get whatever job you want done well. good luck on the build btw

What size motor are you planning on running? HP goals? RPM range where you want your power? 1/4 mile times?
Answer those questions and then you'll be able to see what size(b) turbo(s) to go with.

I am hoping to be able to go high 6s or low 7s and it would be on a 500+ci motor.I think for those goals I would need over 2000 hp. How come the big dogs use twins? Is ther just not a turbo that is big enuff or is it no room for a big one?

How big is your wallet?
I would prefer a big single...just to keep it simple. I don't think it is a matter of cubic inches. There are plenty of big turbos out there that can get you where you want to be. Paging Dr. Turbo...paging Dr. Turbo.

On a side note, do you truly understand what it takes to get a car into the low 7s and 6s? Its a lot more than just rwhp. You are talking complete (custom) chasis work (call madman) for starters. Is your wallet bottomless? I may be completely wrong, and you may have built dozens of cars that run 7s, but If I am right low 9s would be a more realistic goal. I mean prostock cars run 6.70s. Are you looking to build a prostock car?
