I don't know that it's feasible for a DIYer. I never tried, but I can't imagine you'd be able to get a bend that doesn't lose diameter and/or wall thickness in the process. I also would worry about embrittlement from the application of heat.

I thought that was tried...and heating the plastic stretches it and it doesn't shrink back as far as it should.

/\ I did see were someone had tried to heat the end of the line to slide the fitting in, which would probably result in the line not shrinking back tightly enough. I was asking if anyone had tried heating the line in the middle so that they could make tighter bends.

I used these for the fuel lines and a bunch of other stuff. Looked everywhere for these, this is the only place I found them. They have three different sizes and I think they have other colors. I used black.

Hope that helps.

your local hardware stores should stock those types of clamps also. I used the type that you slide the tube into and it sandwiches it. They were rubber lined also. I believe hilman manufacturers the clamps

Don't try and heat other than boiling water. It will weaken that area. Dorman makes 90 or 45 to make the hard turns.

Is that a Tanks Inc PA series pump setup in the background? If so, are those inverted flare to quick disconnect stubs you put into the inlet/outlets? What size? I called Tanks Inc and they said those fittings are NPT. I'm not sure if they were talking about the elbow outlets or the actual plate they screw into.

Default gm sender to nylon line

I have the gm tank sender with the 1.5 X 16mm feed and 1.5 x 14 mm return line fittings on it.

Is this the correct fitting to connect to nylon?

dorman Part Number: 800-078

looks like it only has one barb

http://ken-co.com/fmsi/catalog/L-2007-12.pdf

cant get this pic but link above shows FMSI 4236 says for fuel injection hose?

Those are the connections i ended up using. I used teflon spray to slide the hose over the ends. I also put a stainless hose clamp over the hose just to be safe. There was a small issue with one of the rubber gaskets not fitting properly in the fitting. I think a little ream with the drill bit solved the problem. I have not fired mine up, so not sure how well it works.

Ok thanks stupid fittings were a pain to find everything is for adapting an. I was worried about that one barb also planned on going with a clamp just to be sure, will be a pain to get to after bed is on and I'm not dropping a 32 gal tank.

I'm a newby that has started collecting parts......
I picked up this 94 Caprice gas tank and sending unit... is it possible to clean up this sending unit for use in LSX swap? Is there a tool needed to take the old lines off and what fitting should I use in the future?

There should be a tool to disconnect those fittings.
How ever I would not reuse that sending unit it's too rusty.
Purchase a new sender.
Link to E-bay search. http://www.ebay.com/sch/Car-Truck-Pa...&_skc=50&rt=nc
This is sender only you should be able to reuse your pump.
Remove the sender take a photo of it and the hole in the tank.
Yes, check the camera focus.
What car are you installing this in.

This is great advice. When I just did the fuel line relocation on my LT1, the lines are so long, and the feed line in the picture wants to kink. Im going to cut the nylon lines shorter, and install a straight steel disconnect on it - http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...1650&ppt=C0290

I pretty much used that exact setup. I used the fuel lines from the donor car as well, I just cut them shorter, and got the inline repair fitting for that line. You cant use the same fuel pump however because it doesn't have the same pressure. You will need to get the fuel pump for the LS engines, and the sending unit from the Caprice. The pumps look the same but have different pressures. And yes you can get the fuel line disconnect tools from your local parts place.
