Fuel smell when coming to a stop
Lately I have noticed a fuel smell when I am out driving and coming to a dead stop or slowing down in traffic. I can smell this with the windows up or down, and it only hits you for 5-10 seconds then fades off. When parking the car and exiting, I can smell it on the back left area. The other day when I noticed the smell when parking a work, I got out the car and opened the gas door and got close and I can smell it there.
This weekend I replaced the fuel filter and gas cap with a new locking cap, but since then and today the issue is still occuring. Any ideas? Car is a 2002 Trans Am, 53k miles.
