Default Fuel tank interchanging?

Hey guys I have a 98 Z28 with the aluminum gas tank and was wondering if you can just put a plastic tank from a 99-02 ls1 camaro or what the inerchangeability is on it.

The 99 tank will fit with wiring, evap system, fuel line & filler neck modifications. The best way is to get everything from a 99 up car.

Why would you want to change? Doesn't seem worth the effort as the 98 setups are rather good in stock form.

because 1998 was only one year and i have many many f-bodys and only two of them are 98's the rest are 99-02 so 99-02 fuel tanks are more plentiful for me

I'd say just a little weight reduction.

any updates on this???

I have a 98 style LS1/T56 that I am swapping into a 1989 camaro.
I also have the plastic 99-02 style tank (I changed the sensor so that it reads 0-90 now). My fuel gauge can read 0-90, 240-33, 73-10, 20-150 and 0-30 Ohm senders (Empty-Full).

I need to hook up the EVAP system, what dose it take to make all of this work? Would it be easier to keep the stock tank?
