Default Adapter issues

I am having issues with my sending unit and the adapters I bought. They are the same FPR adapters that everybody reccomends. Here are pics of the issue. Anybody else have these issues?

Any help would be appreciated.

I just bought the Russel ones for my car. No clips to worry about, the back just screws on to clamp it to the fuel line.
