One day last week I went to start my car and while I had no trouble starting it and never have, the pump whined on me in a higher pitch than prime. Then the sound increased in frequency as I touched the gas, it only took a few minutes for it to go away. Anyone experienced this? Is my pump on the way out? The car has 66k miles. I am going to hook up a fuel pressure gauge tomorrow.

I was thinking of buying the racetronix pump just in case. I have 320rwhp and don't plan on adding anymore power, should I get the upgraded wiring option?

My Racetronix set-up has done that a handful of times in the past 10+ years on my 427ci set up.....I just ignored it myself and its been fine ever since.

Interesting, I believe the pump in the car is stock, no trap door cuts in the back.

I just think pumps scream every now and then...because people have posted the same thing you are over the years and they never had failures....just the occasional whine.

Check your rail pressure, if its fine I'd just forget about it.
