I'm just curious, but why did you buy one? Did your regulator in the tank fail?

Very seldom- and usually on chrysler products are fuel pressure regulators in the tank. I couldnt imagine GM doing that. but GM does have a fuel filter with a built in regulator so anything is possible..

Im not an LS1 guy so could someone post a picture of the fuel rail?

Thanks

Edit- I found a fuel rail- there is the regulator

Edit 2- LS1 fuel units do have a regulator in the tank also it apears. Im not quite sure how that one works but if there is a diaphram in it and it fails then you will just have more fuel pressure unless it cloggs a line..

Good luck..

I was told that it is just a baffle or something. Dont you think that if it was a regulator it would be before the intake rails? It is in the middle which would only regulate one side. How does that work then?

I had billet rails on and did not require an external fuel pressure regulator. Only the 97's have an external regulator from what I understand.

Edit- that might actually be the 97 rail, because 98 and up only have one inlet.

The pic posted is of the 97-98 CORVETTE fuel rails, which DID have the FPR on the rails. They also had a return line as well. However, the 99+ vettes, and ALL the LS1 f-bodies have a single feed line, and YES, the FPR IS IN THE TANK. Here is a pic of mine removed so I could do the FPR in the engine bay

I'm not sure how you would hook that FPR up. Seeing as how it has 3 fittings on it... The one I got has 2 fittings in it, and I have it in line with the return line. Maybe for that one you ordered you need to run a line to each rail then out each rail and into the FPR and have a single return line. Either way, you will need to set up a return style system, and run another return line, or use your EVAP as a return line, or run another feed line and use the stock feed as your new return. You also need to remove the stock FPR in the tank as well.

My stock fuel rail has/had that piece on it and it is before the 2 rails actually right after the quick connect.. Since I put on the Nasty fuel rails, I am reading 70psi. Before rails, reading 63. Now reading 70psi, which is too much fuel and is at 10.5 WOT...

I am just stumped on how to run that 3rd inlet/outlet on the regulator.

Cant you just cap that middle/3rd one and just run it inline after the filter?

Here's a pic of mine installed. The arrow is pointing at the fuel filter.

So is it between the tank and the filter?

Or between the filter and the motor?

I believe all 3 fittings are -6. So, what size is the #3 fitting coming out of the filter?

Also, connection #1, how would you attach that to the fuel lin?

Bad idea. The FPR needs to be AFTER the rails...

How do you figure that? It regulates the pressure that goes to the fuel rail.
