Performance gain?

Performance gain?
I have a completely stock convertible 35th anniversary edition.
Would there be a significant gain in performance from a gear swap to 410's. I do have the manual 6 speed and I had read that this was the correct gear to change to.

You'll definitely get off the line quicker if you can hook up and, assuming so, you will probably shave a good two tenths off your 1/4 time anyways. It IS going to hurt your traction (just a heads up). And also to give you an idea, you will now be right about 2,000 RPM cruising at 70mph in sixth gear.
BTW, do you have 3.23s or 3.42s? If you have 3.23s and you're looking for an improvement without making a major change, you can also go with 3.73s. I actually preferred my 3.73s for around town cruising over the 4.10s, but at the track it's 4.10s hands down.
3.42s to 3.73s probably wouldn't be a big enough change for most people to justify doing the work or paying the money for the swap.

4.10's are the way to go man. Like mentioned above, it'll be nothing but a tire molester after the swap. Performance wise, they just shave time off the 1/4, but they'll make the butt meter think you just added an extra 100hp. It also will make the car much easier to drive. Did for me anyways. You can cruise in 6th at 45mph roll into it to pass a car and not HAVE to downshift. This way you can keep some of your mpg that you'll lose in city driving. Hwy won't change much though maybe 1-2mpg loss.
