3rd gen rear in 4th gen?

Default 3rd gen rear in 4th gen?

I was wondering is somebody knew the difference between a posi 3rd gen rear end witha posi rear end from a 4th gen iwant to put a 3rd gen in my forth gen to gain some tire in there I really like my rim and I wanna go to a 305 or something...wanna transfer everything from my dth rear to my third except axles that prob are shorter..is it worth it how smaller is the 3rd gen rear?

its 2 inches narrower on each side, won't have any ABS provisions, and the only way to put your brakes on it will be if the 3rd gen was disk brakes. also you will have to make sure to check the spline count because your axles will be 28 and the majority of the 3rd gens were 26.

hmmm I wonder if it will just be easier to have my 4th gen chopped and by new axles.....as faras the third member is everything the same?

I'm just basically trying to loose 2 in on each side without having to shell out 3500 for a aftermarkwt rear what would be the best way to do it? I would like to kepp abs....
