We use Napa 80/90 non synthetic, and it takes 3-1/3 quarts. Bob

That is what Moser recommends, and they won't warranty a rear that uses synthetic. Bob

Im currently using RP 75/90, can I go to a non-synthetic 80/90 without doing some form of damage?

Also what size Torx bit are the fill and drain caps?

We put Royal Purple synthetic in mine when it was first installed and there was excessive noise. We didn't know any better at the time. Stick with standard dino oil, and yeah thats what they say to use. I would get that rp outa there zmonster.

Schaeffers #267 80W/90. Excellent high temp protection...etc. Look it up if you wish. Once used, you will never use anything else. BITOG is a great site to research lubricants as well. Good-luck

I buy it @ a local big rig (truck) shop. On the Schaeffer's web site there are vendor links to assist in finding vendors local to your area.

Just drained the RP out of mine. Came out looking nearly solid there were so many metal shavings-I mean really thick. I tried getting 3 quarts of regular non-synthetic 80/90 in but after nearly 2 quarts it just started coming out of the fill hole. Am I doing something wrong? Why cant I get 3 quarts in it?
