moser 12 and soild pinion spacer
i am getting ready to swap out motive 4.56 gears to motive 4.10's. i will putting in all new pinion and carrier bearings and i was wondering if i should just install a solid pinion spacer. i don't know if alot of people have done this with a moser 12 bolt or not. i tried a search but i didn't find to many threads about it. let me know what you think or if you have had good or bad luck with one.

my strange 12 bolt had one in it with the 3.73s, i would have reused it, but i didnt have any shims and when they put it together they screwed one up pretty bad. So i just used a crush sleeve. Plus i would assume you should have a pinion depth checking tool to properly set it up and i dont have one.

That's not the recommended way to do it. Crush sleeves work by putting tension on the pinion, and a solid spacer uses a specific torque on the pinion nut. The best way to fit it properly is to use a pinion spacing tool and follow the directions that came with the spacer. I've used one before, and I had pretty good results.
