Question 9" with locker coasting noise and shake when parking

I just recently installed a moser 9" with a detroit locker and 4.30 gears, it seems to be set up ok but im having problems under various conditions. one being on the highway at about 75 if i am coasting there is this grinding sort of sound, i took a vid with my cell that you can kinda hear the noise i can upload later. With the adj. spohn ta you are supposed to use the holes on the driver side like the instructions say right? I have seen a few pix of moser 9" setups that they are using the other holes. i think epp has a pic of doing that. could that be the prob? could a wrong pinion angle cause this? also when i try to turn into a parking spot i think when the inner wheel is stopped and is pivoting the whole car shakes like crazy and is pretty embarrassing. is that normal with the locker?

The second part of your question is normal. To alleviate some of the ratcheting you can declutch and smooths out some.

That sounds like your torque arm is contatcting the floorpan.

I do hear the normal locker clunking sound, but around the 10 second mark is does sound weird..

Also, it sounds like some gear whine, but that's usually normal also..hah

what torque arm are u runnin? the body mounted ones transfer a **** load of noise and vibrations directly to the floor pan so any noises or play in the locker will be more noticeable.

I'd jack up the car and look to see if the torque arm is making contact with the floor's sheetmetal. It sounds like this could be your problem, if it is, shove a prybar up there between the torque arm and the floor, and gently pry the sheetmetal of the floor away from the torque arm. Bob

i changed the lube at 500 miles and the coasting noise stopped. my guess was low fluid level. I cant check it b/c one of the studs are blocking the fill plug on the dif so i have to guess how much to put in and pump it thru the vent fitting.
