new 3.73 gear help

new 3.73 gear help
just put a set of richmond 3.73 gears in my 98 camaro. they are loud !!!! will they quiet some with heat cycling or is something wrong ? the car sounds like it has a set of 44 inch mickey thompson mud tires on it . the gears are brand new and come with the install kit . they come with the car when i bought it . thanks

I tried Summit branded gears and they were noisy. By the time break-in was over they had quieted down quite a bit. Richmonds are known for being noisy but strong.

there were a few bearings etc. with the kit not sure which ones come with kit . my mech. said everything looked good on inside . and it didnt do it before so maybe just needs time to break in .

if they came with the kit i woulda put them in... if they dont quiet down in a few hundred miles they were set up wrong.
i put richmonds in my 93 years ago and they werent as loud at any point in time as what your describing

thanks if they dont quiet down in a few hundread miles or so i will get someone else to look at it . thanks for the help

if they are as loud as he says, it not the cut of the gears, it's the setup. it is true that richmonds are known to be louder than other brands because of the cut. but not how he seems to be describing.
