Help me choose a gear 4.10s or 4.30s?
Hey guys I was wondering which is a better choice 4.10s or 4.30s. I want to get my moser 12bolt soon I just need to decide on gears. I am going to be doing a lot of dragracing next year, But I also drive on the street. How will the 4.30s be on the highway at 70-75 in 6th gear? Also will a 27X10.5-15 work well with 4.30s or should I just get the 4.10s. I will have Full bolt ons, LT headers with X-Pipe, adj. QA1s all around, New T/A, LCA w/ relocation brackets, and spec Stage 3 clutch just to give you an Idea of what I will be running.

I am on the fence on the gear choice too. I am planning on ordering a hybrid 8.8 with 4.10's or 4.30's. I don't plan to spray the car, but I am concerned about hitting the limitter in 4th with the 4.30's. I don't think it will make a big difference on the street in 6th.
I absolutley want 4.30's when I get my cam and longtubes, but that won't be until summer.
Do you know what mph you will hit the limiter at with the 4.30's in 4th?

Do not get 4.30's with the stock cam. You will be out of the power range way too quick. 4.10's preferred.
Saw a stock cam SS with same mods as you and 4.10 Moser go 12.2 all day in 90* weather.
I also know a guy with 4.30's but his car is cammed making 403 rwhp and is full weight. He goes 11.70's and drives it everyday.

4:30's is to much gear for a STOCK cam, even with 28's you'd still be putting yourself waaay out of the stock powerband with 4:30's. 4:10's is PLENTY, and will put you right at 5800 crossing the traps depending on your tire size. Anything over 6200 on the stock cam and you're just floating valves and hurting power..
