Default Will this work in my Z???

I found a great deal on a brand new on auburn unit for a 10 bolt.

Fits:
10 bolt 7.5 , 28 spline axles
Auburn Part#: 542040

Will this work in my camaro?

It's not the standard unit,it's the HP pro series. It's a series 3 carrier,since you didn't state your current gears,it'll work on M6 3.42 and A4 3.23.It'll not work as a replacement carrier on a A4 2.73 which uses a series 2 carrier.

I do have an M6 with the 3.42. Are there any pros or cons on this carrier. Like I said it is a DD with very mild bolt ons. My torsen is starting to go, so I thought this maybe would be a good idea.

torsen starting to go ?,typically they're fine/function until there's a catastrophic break.
shouldn't be any cons

Well I took it to Chevy to get looked at and the guys said, "It's starting to go." Not sure if that is true or not? It is making a lot of noise?

making a lot of noise=yeah it's time, but then again it could only be the bearings or gearset wearing out.
sounds like an internal inspection is necesary.

Is this a pretty good carrier for my setup? Or should I be looking into Eaton, Spool, or Auburn Pro? I am not looking to dump a ton of money in this 10 bolt, but I want something that will take some of a beating.

any part for any 10 bolt could go at any time, and since you're a 6speed,any part for a 10 bolt will probably go at any time.there are countless threads in this gear & axle forum discussing this.

Ya i know these 10 bolts are worthless. I just dont have 2G's for a 9in. So I am trying to fix it as cheap as possible.

Sounds like the auburn that SLP puts in from factory isn't it? That's what's in mine.
