Moser 9" Twisted splines already??
I'm not sure if anyone else has had any problems with moser, but I bought a whole moser 9" online and had it installed about 16 Months ago and I have had it to the track 2 times.. This last time I twisted the axles really bad and they won't back it up. What kind of support is that for paying a lot of money for something that should have lasted longer than my STOCK 10 bolt that didn't even break anything other than the center limited slip unit? It's a 1999 Trans am with a cam and bolt on's.. Not to mention I might be running just over 400HP I think they messed something up because there is no way that those should twist that easily, at least if they had hardened them. What do I do from here? I probably have 4000 miles on this rear.

Who did you order if through? You should contact whoever you bought it through to see what they can do to help you out. Bob

Texas Speed as well as all of my aftermarket parts.. They have always been bad about shipping out my items, I even waited a month to get this rearend so I could have it installed since it shipped in 3 pieces.

Moser backs their 33,35 and 40 spline axels for 10 years; if you have the basic 31 spline 9" setup you may be out of luck.I'm surprised you would twist them but I guess Moser doesn't think their 30 and 31 spline axels are tuff enough for the guarantee.

I guess they won't back up their work, I talked to moser and to speed inc. and neither will do anything about it, pulled the passenger side axle out and it's still straight (so did I get one that was faulty or something) so now I have a few options, either I can put another new axle in and sell that rear or I can just buy 35 spline parts to replace the insides of this one? So what's cheaper I already dumped a bunch of money into this one.. Maybe somebody wants to buy this one from me and I'll go to a 35 spline rearend. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Sorry to see you could'nt get any help with your axle but not real surprised.I assume this is a m6 Trans Am to have twisted an axle.Whats in your center- trac loc, true trac or what? Thats the problem;you could easy upgrade to better axle but if you want a LSD and not a locker or spool a wavetrac might be your only option and they are $.Of course if you dont go back to the track just replace the 31 spine axle.BTW what tires were you running and how high rpm were you launching?

I'm in the same boat right now. Twisted drivers side axle at the splines (31) and the true-crap pops taking tight turns. I was wondering if saving up for 35 spline axles and a wavetrack would be worth it or just get another true-crap and an axle and not race it.
Quick question though: Will 35 spline axles and respective diff fit in the standard 9" housing Moser sells?
