Default Rear End selection for 408 stroker

wondering which rear to get for my 408 stroker (lq4 block with LS3 top end) car is a weekend street strip car and rather babied. max hp est of 700 hp guessing closer to 600. with numbers in FT matching. ive checked with Bob@brutespeed, Midwest chasis, and Spohn, ect ect. pretty much its between Dana60, FAB 9, and MOSER 12. but im looking for the most practical one for me. i want posi, but not all time posi, around a 3.00 gear ratio. (t56 tranny and should tach around 1k at 75-80 in 6th.) and some of these ive been looking at say good to over 2000 hp. well thats not practical for me if im only pushing 650? i want something that will be dependable, but not over the top, i dont know a whole lot about the rears except the 12's are noisy, and the 9's seem to be the favorite. can some one explain to be what would be the most efficient? cost is a factor i was considering too...

If you look at the above link, you'll see that the Moser 9 inch and 12 bolt prices are the same basic prices.

The link here tells why the 9 inch is superior to the 12 bolt.

For 650 hp I would go with the nine inch with the Wavetrac. The Wavetrac is a great differential that you'll never know is back there. It is more money but you'll be happier with it in the long run. Bob

I would go here and do some reading, it will give you tons of information. MWC LINK

We can get you into a Fabricated housing for around the same price you would spend on a stamped housing. With our package it also comes with a torque arm and cross member of your choice.

For what you are doing we can put you into one of our Billet Clutch Posi's and it will take you a long way and it doesn't have the high cost of the Strange S-Trac or the Wavetrac. How ever the S-Trac or Wavetrac is a one time purchase deal that can take the beating.

Base package includes housing(any width), Strange nodular(rated 600hp) center section with spool and choice of gear ratio(Motive Performance), 31-35 spline Strange axles w/ street bearings and 2" 12mm metric or 1/2" SAE studs, chrome-moly double adjustable torque arm with crossmember for your application. All necessary hardware is included as well. The base package is $2700 shipped to the lower 48 states east of Colorado. Co. and west is 2800.00 and coastal/border states may incur a slight surcharge. Residential deliveries of complete assembled rearends will require a lift gate service and will need to be quoted at the time of order.

If you add the posi option you are only looking at an additional $175.
