Default need some help on setting my 9inch up

My housing axle end to axle end is 59" which i think is 1/4 short from what i think it should be which isnt too big of a deal. I do know that the housing comes up shorter then a 10bolt housing would but i guess the axles stick out further? Im confused on how i would set up my backing plates and everything, Can i not use my plates from the factory 10bolt? The axle tubes are so much bigger on the 9inch i dont see how it would fit, also what holds the axles in. I am new to setting up rear ends so I dont know? I had a shop build my housing and it almost looks like the axle ends arent for a 98+ camaro, i have some pics though. also does anyone know the deminsions of the correct axle ends?

Your backing plates become the bearing retainers and hold the axles into the housing. You have to put the backing plates on the axles first then press your bearings on. You have to have the right housing ends for it to work though. You need the Moser flush mount housing ends for the 9 inch.

it could be narrowed on purpose (to accommodate wheels with less backspacing)

Who made the diff, Usually they cut basically just the center diff housing out of the nine inch and use camaro housing ends, that way your suspension all bolts up..... however it looks like you have the correct shocker mounts. Any way...the 1/4 of an inch shorter should give you know hastles as there is still plenty of room inboard, your talking 1/8 of an inch either side!!
The shot of the axle in the tube, looks wrong it should be in the housing further especially with no bearings. One axle should be shorter than the other.
Hope this helps.

Oh ****, I just measured 59" housing flange to housing flange. Your housing is the right width. Around 65' axle flange to axle flange....Sorry. Either way those housing ends will not fit your backing plates. You may have to get creative to get them to work or change them.
