Quick Driveshaft Question
A buddy put a carbon fiber driveshaft in his 2000 Trans Am WS6 M6 and has his stock aluminum one in the garage. He said I can have it but I am not sure if it will fit my 1999 Firebird Formula A4 (2.73 rear gears) which has a steel one from the factory. Will his aluminum DS be a direct swap to replace mine or will anything have to be changed?

Yes, same length - direct swap. However, other than the weight savings don't see much reason to go from stock steel to stock aluminum.
The wall thickness of the factory aluminum DS is about the thickness of a pop can - put any power thru it & it's gonna twist in half.
With your 2.73's and basically stock with only bolt ons you prolly should be OK...
