confused about gear oil, please help.....

Default confused about gear oil, please help.....

Ok, I just bought a 99 trans Am WS6. I'm doing a diff flush. I bought the items listed below for it. Am I dead on or way off? Some say non syntec and some say syntec with additive and with out......ive searched and gotten mixed answers......thanks for imput...

Diff gasket
Silicone
GM additive
Castrol Syntrax Limited Slip Syntetic Gear Oil

I usually use Valvoline synthetic with gm additive and haven't had any issues. I have a 98 w/ an auburn posi.

I belive mine is a torsen.......I've read to use non sythetic gear oil with the torsen but also read to use synthetic........I don't know what to use....jaja, I also bought the gm additive....

You do not need friction modifier for a torsen. There are no clutches. Cheap non-syn gear oil works fine.
