Default Thoughts on TH400 3.90 gears

What are peoples thoughts on a th400 with 28 inch tires and 3.90 gears. It will be in my 4000 lbs nitrous truck. I was thinking either 3.73 or 4.10. But figured that is a happy medium. Thanks in advance

Street or track only? I'd go crazy with that gear in a street truck and no OD. My Dakota has 3.90 gears and a 28" tire, if I drive in 3rd (1.00:1) it sucks! Seventy MPH is 3300 RPM's...

It's mostly street but not highway. I'll trailer it if I go on longer drives or to the track. I'm just thinking aggressive gearing will get the job done.

I forgot to mention the 28 inch tire would be slicks or radial. Street driven tire is close to 31-32 inch tall

That's what I run with 275 pros... yet to run it this year though... better to have a tad bit more gear then you need or else you'll be switching gears or tire height. If your shifting around 6500ish it's a good gear for a mid to upper 130ish trap depending on the converter
