Default MWC 9 removing fill plug?

There a trick for removing the fill plug then getting it snug for the midwest chassis ford 9 with the strange center section? Sockets don't fit and neither do wrenches, kind of a pain in the ***.

Anyone have any tricks?

Think I'm going to just pull it and have someone weld a smaller aluminum nut on the end so you can fit a wrench around it.

We have had good luck with AN wrenches as that is actually what that fitting is. I am working with Strange on a enhanced design for that plug already.

A month of the car sitting and I finally got around to this. Welded an aluminum nut on the end of the strange 10an plug. Now I can actually fit a wrench on it to get the plug on and off.

Looks like garbage, but whatever at least it won't suck to take it off.

Hind sight a 10an plug with a hex on it would have been better and only cost me like 5$, MWC you may want to spring for these for future customers.

***EDIT*** The below isn't an o-ring boss (ORB) fitting. Different taper on the fitting and the ORB fittings use a rubber o ring. I can't find any ORB fittings in 10an that hex open

Something like the BELOW should actually work, but 40$ from AU. Not sure if anyone domestic makes them.

We are working on it already, and Strange is aware of the issue.

For anyone wanting to replace their current plug there is a part available from Fragola 481310-BL that looks just like a ordinary hex pipe plug but it is setup for O ring.
