3.08 or 3.31 rear gears.....roll racer only....1,000 RWHP street car...
Anyone using the 3.08 gears for this type of street car? With high HP like 1,000.
I was going to use 3.23 gears but the only gears available are 3.08 or 3.31 for the set up I'm using from Strange....for my Strange 12 bolt.
What do you all think is best.....roll racer only, not drag racing from a dig.
Thanks.

Yeah lots of the higher speed guys keep the highway gears. I think I would do the math for tire size and trans gearing, then a predicted max speed and go with the gear that gets you there.

I'm only making around 600 tire, with 3.55s currently, and I would not be scared to move to a 3.08 even with the low power that my car makes right now.
If I ever break the gear set, I'll likely move closer to 3:1
It's all in the converter tbh (if you're running an automatic of course)

4L80E....3600 triple disc FTI converter.
I'd hate to go too high with a 3.08.
But I've only had 3.73 gears in my 1998 WS6....so I really have no experience with any other gears.

Even with a stock torque converter you wouldn't see much appreciable performance difference between these two gear ratios, and with an optimized stall speed the difference in acceleration rate would be marginal at absolute best.
In your case, what will matter more is high/top speed, so I'd pick the one that puts you at the most favorable rpm for your intended max speed. Everything else between these two ratios won't matter much in your application.

This one is my favorite:
