373 gears seems to have sluggish acceleration when driving
i got my 373 gears and i put a few hundred miles on it and yes it does pull hard in 2nd gear, ive notice like sluggish acceleration like when the car downshifts theres not that much go, when like when iam crusing at 40 mph and i step on the gas half throttle and it goes a little and when i floor the gas pedal to the floor the car doesn't scream out loud as it with before with my 273 gears the car moves but not as fast as it did before, i have the gas pedal all the way to the floor and boy it seems like its crawling slowly, my car doesn't missfire or anything like that its just seems to be sluggish when the car downshifts when i get on the gas pedal it doesn't roar as big as it did with my other gears..is this normal? also what mph is a good to catch 2nd gear downshift? also my car is a A4.

I got 3:73s and didn't really have that type of problem. I did have the computer custom tuned by MTI and a 2800 stall at the same time. Later I went up to a 3600. A higher stall will help keep the motor in the power or torque curve.

More gear doesnt hurt topend power...thats total bs. What you dont have now though is a 2nd gear downshift at freeway speeds because the motor would be running too fast, so it has to choose 3rd. Your downshift sweetspots are still there, but they are now at different speeds. I'd personally get LS1Edit or HP Tuners to tweak the max downshift speeds. The stock/hypertech settings arent aggressive enough for my tastes.

Well the shift points are setup specific. WOT shift points are obviously related to the engines peak power rpm. The part throttle shift points are different, depending on what converter you have. A really loose converter should have higher mph/rpm part throttle shift point to cut down on the looseness feeling. A good setup is to change the shift points by the percentage of the axle ratio change..i.e 3.23-3.73 is 15%.

iam planing on bringing my car to finish line performance so the can hook up the LS1 edit to my car and so they can control the downshifts on my car so i can get back my 2nd gear downshift when iam crusing at different speeds, hopefully this will work

same here if i had to this this all over again i would get 323 or 342 gears, it sucks that these dam 373 gears wont downshift into 2nd gear for that screaming performance when iam crusing at 50 mph or faster
