Default ok, 1 more question

What is the purpose of the larger fine toothed gear attached to the ring gear on the posi unit(the one on the left of the ring gear with all the smaller teeth). I ask because it has a couple of teeth chipped off and was wondering if this would affect anything.

its the ABS reluctor that senses rear wheel speed. Supposedly its a bad thing to chip, but i wonldnt necessarily replace it unless its causing any problems. I also believe its only used if your car is a NON traction control car. Im fairly certain that TCS cars have individual wheel speed sensors, however I could be mistaken... I dont have TCS.

Well, the speedo is measured off the tailshaft of the transmission (VSS) if i recall. The ABS reluctor would probably only affect full on ABS braking. I dont know if you want to take a quick run in a parking lot and lock em all up the next time it rains.
