winding sound

winding sound I have a 98 camaro M6 and every time in gear the car makes a winding sound when i let off the gas, but when i take it out of gear there is no winding.Does anybody know what this is.

I had the same issue with my truck when I changed rearend gears. The gears never got properly broken in, and when I took the rear axle housing cover off, I saw that a large amount of metal shavings had accumulated on the magnet. So I knew it was time too do it all over again.
That may not be it though... just giving you tips from my experience.
