Just looking for Pros and cons of painting it. I just want to get it under the car but I feel guilty for not painting it......

Paint it man. Go to Home Depot, get a can of rustoleum auto primer, and a can of gloss black, tape over the rear alum cover ( or whatever you went with ) and the output shaft, and spray away. Spray with both until you run out.. a whole can of each. I did mine, looks mint.. and will for years to come. You ever see what one of those looks like after a year without painting it? You don't want to.... take the time, paint it up.

Yea I am going to use some good ole John Deere Muffler paint. It is Black and holds up to heat very well. Used it on my muffler on my golf cart and it hasn't flaked chiped or anything. A guy I know used it on his bare headers inside and out and he claims there isn't a spec of rust on them and he has ran them for about 2 years now.
I will take the time and paint it.
