How would I be able to tell what gears I have if I dont know what the previous owner did?? I think stock it was 2.73 right? its a 2001 Z and I run 12.95 in th 1/4 with what ive done to it. But i dont know if the rear has been touched and i know there is a way to figure it out by lift the rear and turning the wheels and countin rotations i forget some one please refresh me?

Are you A4 or M6? im guessing by saying 2.73 you are A4, stock could have been that or 3.23's, that is if you are looking for the stock gears

if you have a 2.73, it should take 2.73 rotations of the driveshaft to turn the back wheels once.

You can also try the gear calculator at www.f-body.org/gears/

That site is a gear/MPH calculator - so it assumes the speedo has been changed to the current gears. I originally had 2.73's and always use it to ensure my Predator makes the correct change to 3.42's after programming - it's been around for a long time and has always been accurate for me. You both running the same tire sizes?

Look at the RPO code list on the interior edge of the driver door. Assuming its an A4 and the rear hasn't been touched, you have 2.73 gears unless there is code GU5 listed. If so, you have 3.23 gears.
