Default 10 bolt leaking... help please

Okay, I've done some searches, but haven't quite gathered what I needed. My 10 bolt rear end is leaking. I have a 1998 z28 6 speed. I've got a gasket but I just need to know how much oil to put back into the rear end when I've switched the gasket. I think it's 2qts. What weight of oil would I need and do I need to put additive in with it also??????? Thanks for all the help guys.

If your car's a '98, it should have a Auburn carrier, if the rear hasn't been changed. Use non-synthetic gear oil (1.75 qts.) and a bottle of the GM additive... WJ

Yes, it is a 98. Thanks for the input. What weight of gear oil should I use then? Can I get the GM additive at any GM dealer?
Also, would I need a sealer with the gasket or can I just use the gasket itself?
Thanks in advance.

75-90w is the recommended weight oil. You can get the additive at any GM dealer. You just need one bottle. As far as the gasket, I've tried it both ways. The gasket dry and the gasket with RTV and had leaks both times. Next time I'm using 2 gaskets dry.
Here's a recent link with info about the gear oil:

That's the best way, if the stock gasket doesn't seal anymore. That's the only way I can get my TA cover to seal. Never had any problems with it.
