3.42's or 3.73's for my A4?
Been thinking of doing a gear swap soon. Right now I do not have a traction problem at the track on street tires. My car usually doesn't spin at all on launch. What kinds of reductions in ET are possible with 3.42s, 3.73s? BTW, no opposed to running DR's but would prefer to use street tires since the rears are so delicate on these cars. Gas mileage isn't a concern. Suggestions?

I am taking the car in for a rear pinion seal leak and figured I would do a gear swap and will be doing a 3.42 from my 3.23. Nothing radical but hopefully enough to give me a little edge. Also, I am not trying to get ETs at the track just to get a little quicker luanch without sacrificing top end.
I am also basing it in part on the this gear selector and rpm range guide:

And I plan on changing shift points so I change gears at a slightly higher RPM at my following tune.

run some 4.10's! that will help you the most! 4.10's in a auto, 4.33's with a 12 bolt in a 6sp lol me personally ill have to run a taller tire with my 4.10's, but that is cool, wont have any problems hooking up.
if u have 3.23's right now u wont fill any difference with 3.42's... only way i say do it is if you see a set for 50$ for sale and can get a cheap install kit and do it urself.. you will wont notice that much with the 3.73's...
