Can a stock 10 bolt hold up to ET Streets on an M6?
I have a line on some ET Streets for real cheap. What are the chances the stock 10 bolt will hold up for 5 runs behind an M6 with a stock clutch?
This is for a bolt on car, full exhaust, ls6 intake, and lid. I ran 13.5@108 on a hot day with a crappy 2.3 60 ft. I'd like to be in the 12's before the summer is out by using some tires but I need the car to make it home as well.

Do you plan on feathering the clutch off the line or dumping it and at what RPM? Personally, I think you will nuke the rear end and/or the clutch. I wouldn't do it . I've seen too many guys at the strip rev it up on the line let the clutch go and the car jumps a little and that is it for the rear. The guy will rev it up again and like WTF happened? Next thing is 3 or 4 people pushing the car off the track.

I am not the experienced racer, buy with all the sticky rubber on the track when I went, my clutch didn't hold with street tires I had to quit trying burnouts prior to my run because the clutch wouldn't hold for the launch.

I say dont risk it just because of the fact you can sell your 10 bolt and get some money from it to pay for a 12bolt.....For me, I say the first mod any m6 should do is a 12bolt/9inch with 4:10's but thats me

I put 4.10's in mine and went 5 passes the 1st night and got a best of 12.19 that night. The next outting I brought the trailer I knew I was going to break it! I had planned on spraying a 100 shot if all went well. Well it did'nt. The 3rd pass it broke in the burn out box, it wheel hopped and it was done.
All it broke was the posi unit. But I bought a 9" moser to fix it.
And the first night I was slipping the clutch out, NO dumps. Makes me wonder what it really would have done, time wise.
IT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU KEEP DOING IT! But the clutch will go first. There

It's a risk, but very doable IMO. There are two main things that will break your stock rear if you run slicks with a T56. One would be dumping the clutch and the other would be a really aggressive 1-2 shift. If you slip the clutch off the line, it's highly unlikely the rear will break. Once you're off the line, you just need to be cautious when you shift and the rear should hold up. Slipping the clutch is going to be really hard on a stock clutch though.
