Default 8 3/4 rearend

Anyone ever put one of these in an Fbody. My dad is a huge mopar guy and wants to fab up an 8 3/4 in my formula. Should be lighter then a 9 inch and stronger then a 12 inch and fairly cheap. Also has anyone ever run 4:56 gears in a 6 speed car. How'd that work? Thanks for the info.

I have one for sale on the Motown board that I used in my car it is a very nice set up. I don't have any pics right now the car is out a chassis shop getting a new cage etc. I ran a stock chrysler posi with a richmond 4.30 gear car has been 10.86 on spray and street driven. I have no need for this rear end anymore I have ordered a fab 9 since the new motor will be putting out over 1000hp and I don't want to hurt a good 8 3/4 rearend.

Here is one pic I have taken while I was removing the roll bar rear floor of car before sending out for the new cage to be installed (Pardon the dust)

Casting numbers 489 and 742 are the two you want, they use larger pinion bearings. The 741 and X castings use very small pinion bearings about the same size of 10 bolts.
