Default Rear End Oil Leakage

Is it a major problem if a rear end is leaking oil. I don't know how much has leaked out. It's where the axle housing and gear housing come together. There is just a greasy spot, making me believe it's leaking. I don't know much about rear ends. Is there a bearing where the housings come together. This side of my rear end ticks when I turn corners, could this have something to do with it. The pos still works, so I don't think gear wise/clutch wise anything is damaged.

Typical culprits are the pinion seal and cover seal. Unless you have a locker it shouldn't be ticking while turning. I'd take it to a shop to fix the leak and fill with fresh oil.
