Default 4.10s are in the car...got a question

I've searched around and this isn't another "What gear oil do I use thread?"

But the Motive 4.10s I have are a quiet gear. But when the car is in gear, say 4th gear, and when I decelerate, it whines a little bit. I saw in a thread that someone said when a gear whines when decelerating this means the gears were set-up "loose"

Is that a bad thing? And the whine doesn't bother me, just making sure that everything is fine. Thanks.

Not necessarily 'loose'...the whining can be from any kind of set up problem including pinion depth or backlash. And then some gear sets are just whiny from the start. As long as the whine does not get louder/change pitch I would not worry about it.
