Default GM 12 bolt from 76' Chevy. Will it bolt up?

GM 12 bolt from 76' Chevy 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive p/u

Just curious if this would bolt up? I found one for 100 bucks, if I need to modify some things it still would be cheaper than 2k. Please help in telling me what I would need to do !

no, it will not just bolt up. that truck is a leaf spring rear, your car has coil springs and a torque arm mount. it also is probably wider and definatley has a different wheel stud pattern, plus whatever you would have to do to make your brakes work. it might be possible to modify it, but you would spend near as much as buying another housing.

Thank you for your input.

Nor do you want to use a 12bolt truck differential. The pinion shaft diameter is its weak point... and its measurbly weaker than a passenger car 12 bolt.
