HELP Thumping noise
After installed new trans, drive shaft, 9” and Spohn adj. torque arm. I started to hear a thumping noise. It happens when the car is going about 40 mph + when I let off of the gas pedal. But quits when I hit the brake or hit the gas. It only happen on deceleration . It sounds like its coming from the drive shaft or where the torque arm bolts up. Any ides??

Jack the car up by the rear-end, and put jackstands under the axles. This will keep the weight of the car on the rear-end. Crawl under there and see if the torque arm is resting or rubbing on the underbody sheetmetal anywhere. I'm guessing that you find that it is rubbing somewhere around there. A pry bar stuck between the two offending parts will push the sheetmetal in and give you enough clearance to eliminate the interference. Bob

i was having this problem about a year ago...
So a new motor, Trans, driveshaft and 9" still going on... it starts about 70 now...... HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I broken tailshaft housing on the dyno replaced it. installed a Spohn Adj Torque Arm Front Safety Loop now i have a very bad vibration above 90 mph.
one other thing i push it all they way to 120 try to drive out of it and the car acted like it was going to go boom. like the trans didnt want to go any faster the rpms went all the way up to the red line.
