Default 3.90 in A4 opinions

Want to go from 3.42 to 3.90 because i am switching out the rear end for a 9 inch just want to know what gear ratio you think is the best with mods in sig. Could go 3.73 or 3.90 or 4.10. Any one who has done this please chime in and tell me if you think it is too much or too little.

I've gone from a 3.23 to 3.73 and looking back I could have gone for the 3.90.

I went from 2.73's to 3.73's. I would take the 3.90's if I could.

My mods are similar to yours. Tqr V3, Patriot 243's, Fast 90/90, 3600 stall, etc. I have 3.90's and like them. If anything I would go with more gear so I could possibly run more tire, but for a 26" tall tire these are fine.

The 3.90 gear certainly is a good all around gear ratio, the nine inch people are lucky to have it available to them. Bob

well, I went different than the norm for my 6 speed. I went with 4.30's in my 9" and absolutely love them. I would say go for it, and if you have to you can always run a taller tire for the track.

The 7.6 and 12 bolt also have it available, it is only the Dana 60 that doesnt have it.
