5th gen new pricing once 16's hit
I've decided to buy a mid optioned V6 camaro in the near future for a work daily driver. I realize it's speculation only at this point but in say dec and jan once 16's hit the lots how much of a deal or off MSRP could one expect to get on a run of the mill V6 auto Gen 5 car.

They are already offering ridiculous deals depending on your location. And they will continue to offer even better deals once the gen 6s are actually in dealer showrooms. My 1LE stickered for 47k and I got it for 35.5k. I wouldn't expect everyone to be able to find deals like that but that may help put in in perspective. I'm seeing lots of 5th gens in my area priced anywhere from 3k to 10k below MSRP.

I'm after a comfy sporty hour and half drive one way to work commuter for as reasonable as I can get and a new v6 runs almost better than my stock 97 LT1 did.
With that as the criteria should I wait for a gen 6 and pay more or try to find as good a deal as I can on a mid optioned v6 gen 5 and run with it. It'd be awesome to have newest and coolest but it's not really a necessity of mine. Just after a nice car.

I had a 2015 V6 Camaro but later traded it in on a 2015 SS, same trans and options, so the gas mileage was not effected by "add ons" and driving the same roads (equal amounts of city & highway) there was only about 2.5 miles per gallon difference between the V6 & V8. On the longer (45 miles +) trips the V8 actually gets 23+ mpg on the highway, I'm not sure how much better the "long highway" trips would be. When I bought my V6 it was with the same logic as you mentioned, that being the HP of the V6 Camaro was better then my 96 Vette LT1 but the performance did not come close to the LT1. While the V6 may be what you expect, don't shortchange the V8 in the SS, by the way both my cars were A6 automatics.

keep looking if youre serious. i found what i wanted. i searched all dealers within 50 miles. if youre willing to travel even better.
it took some negotiating but i got a satisfactory deal. gm is offering 0% plus other rebates and incentives.
just be patient and youll find what you want.

i ******* love it! its not the fastest car but it looks awesome and the handling is impressive as you know!
that npp exhaust imo needs no changing. it sounds badass! once i take ride i cant get enough. its such a fun car.
BTW,if youre still looking theres some great deals on v6s. at least where i bought mine theyre taking 5-6k off and im sure you can get them down more.
