2010 Production Camaro... IN PERSON!
A customer from the shop I work at got a call yesterday from a GM rep telling him Chevrolet was having a meeting in the Charlotte Area and there would be a production car on display. This was not a publicized viewing, but anyone who walked through the building could see the car. There weren't very many major changes done from the concept to production, but after seeing the concept many times and finally seeing a production car, it looked GREAT!
I'm not going to lie, I'm a little lazy and don't feel like uploading these pictures to another website, but you can see there here: 2010 Production Camaro

This would be a pre-production car, unless they have started production and I don't think they will for months. Forget the date, but it got moved back one month not too long ago for undisclosed reasons. They're not production cars until they start going down the line, I would say.

Wow look at that! Another new car from GM that will stretch into the 2020's and still no projector beams? Still using technology decades behind others. Still refusing to move forward becuase theyre scared to spend a little money? I hope more expensive models and future models will be more sophisticated. It looks cheap. maybe i'm just mad becuase theres no firebird but i dont think GM should be coming out with cars in 2010 that doesnt have HID and NAV standard. The first production BMW with HID's and NAV was in 1996! 14 years later chevy still doesnt have either on their flagship model. I am SO shocked their future is rocky! OMG

As standard (not just optional) on a lower priced/entry level models?
1) The Camaro is neither Chevrolet's nor GM's flagship model and 2) how many $22k cars (or even $31k (the SS) ones) have HIDs and Navigation as standard? Especially one's also delivering between 300hp and 422hp with 6 speed transmissions and 5 year/100k mile warranties?

Projectors are available as an option. Do you really think the base V6 is going to come standard with that stuff? The majority of new cars out there don't have projectors and HIDs standard anyway, and the ones that do aren't $22k pony cars.
Besides, since when was the Camaro chevy's flagship car?

I dont NEED HID or projector headlights and i dont NEED any nav screen either.
standard regular old headlights work fine lighting my way in the dark and if im going somewhere that i am unfamiliar with, my blackberry has a gps map feature OR i could look at a printed map *GASP! WHAT IS THAT?!* before i left to know where i was supposed to be going!
hard to believe people survived back in the days when most cars were manual, there was no in dash navigation, and cars didnt parallel park themsleves...its almost as if people had to develop some sort of skills in life to be able to survive common day to day tasks.
i dont need features like that standard on any vehicle. it only increase the base price for people who dont care about those things.

Imagine a world where a car doesn't have Navigation, oh the horror!
I actually went out of my way to order my C6 specifically without Navigation...though I do like my standard HIDs.
