Question Ls1 history needed

I remember a long time ago I read a story about the prototype ls1 that was put into a c4corvette and a dohc engine was put in a identical c4corvette. and some big wigs were allowed to dive both and the ls1 car was approved that way. Where can I get more about this story and then people in it. also i want to know more of the DOHC engine probably a lt5 evolution.

Please help if you know

Dave
