Default 241 or 706 heads on LQ4 ?

I have an LS1 that is still running ok ,with 241 heads on it ....
Just got an LQ4 ( 65,000 miles ) for a good price ....317 heads on it

I want to swap heads on the LQ4 for better compression & power .

I searched around , some put modified 5.3 vortec heads ( 61cc )on an LQ4 ,
some put LS1 241 heads ( 66cc ) on a LQ4,

Should I go the expense of buying a set of 5.3 heads or keep my 241 ?

I could shave the 241 too if have to ! ,

put simply , are both heads ok ?

advices please !

thanks ,

Dan

For reference I'm running PRC 5.3 heads on a LQ9 with 11.5 compression and it runs really strong for what it is. As long as you can get compression up with the 241's they should perform just as good

I would keep the 241s for the bigger valves and just have them cleaned and milled .020-.030" to bump compression.
