Close to buying a 01' WS6... Help
I've always been in love with the 98-01 Trans Ams... and I've finally found one, I think. I don't know heaps about cars, though I'm trying to learn. I need help. I don't want to get stuck in debt on this.
I've been scouring the threads on checklists and such for buying them, but I'm just unsure. At the same time, completely in love.
So the beauty is this:
https://huntsville.craigslist.org/cto/5648986456.html
He said it has 155k miles, and a lot of vette parts (rearend) installed by a shop that works on many TA's. I'm a little worried as I haven't driven it yet, it's had many parts and such added, high mileage (depending on who you ask), etc.
I really want to finally get my dream car, but I feel rushed as this "seems" like a great deal and will be gone soon. Any guidance is greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!
(I'm going to see it tomorrow)

Thanks for all your guys' input!
I texted him to see what all has been done to it. (info on the vette parts and such)

Thanks for the suggestion; What are the reasons?

I'm sorry... I'll reiterate that I love cars, but am very illiterate when it comes to them. I'm not trolling.
So this isn't a WS6 TA; it's a formula? The 2001 TA WS6 on the nose has the fog lights, where as this one does not; is that what you're referring to?

That car has the feel of a total mess to me. I would certainly pass. As mentioned above, it has the wrong front bumper cover for a Trans Am (what's seen in the pictures is a Formula/Firebird front.) The car may be a real WS6, or not - only a look at the SPID will tell for sure, but it definitely doesn't have the proper front end to match the rest of the Trans Am equipment (meaning side skirts, rear spoiler, and rear bumper cover.)
And how does any 4th gen F-body have a "corvette rear end"? Did someone actually do the work to convert a 4th gen to an independent rear? That would be a major modification to say the least.

Thanks a bunch for lending your expertise guys!
I'm bummed out, but relieved.
Eventually I'll get a beast... One day. ^_^
Sorry again for my "noob-ness" and stupidity.
