I grabbed a 2001 4l80e from my local self service yard for 55$. Also got the 411 pcm for 20$. Saw a aluminum headed lt1 out there and it's 140 for an entire engine. Missed out on that one.

We mainly get '93-97 f bodies since 98-up gets bought by the local late model performance junkyard, but I always seem to find:

6.0, 4.8 and 5.3's, passed a few 4l80's, the 6.0 that I turned into a 408, center console lids / tops, d585 coil pack, missed a 6.2 out of an escalade once.

tons of change, ****, roaches and weed, condoms

always find tools left behind and pick them up.

A few months ago I was looking under the seat of a g body and found a small cardboard box that was full of Mexican money and 4 watches, caravello, Rolex (gotta be fake) and 2 others from the 80's.

The one thing that I really wish I would have got was a high rise hatch off of an LT bird that was a heater grid delete car. Hatch looked so odd without the grid

That's awesome. I wish my self service (cheap) junkyard had Ls stuff. They send it all to the high dollar yard. Sucks.
Although I am starting to see some bbc stuff. Used to be rare.

the 4.8's and 5.3s are very easy to find. I only go to the cheapo pull your own part yards. Now BBC stuff you will never find here. I will find a few trucks that have them on the build tag, but they are always empty.

Biggest find was a g-body rear from a 442 (same as a grand national) for $75. Sold it for $850

The 6.0 that is the 408 in my car now came from an '03 Savanah. Entire motor, all wiring, computer, 4l80e and a bunch of parts that I tied to the motor for somewhere under $300. Sold the trans with a hole in the valve body (lazy *** people drain them with an air chisel through the pan) for the price of the entire pullout.

At my local yard they poke holes in everything and hack every thing. They poke holes in oil pans, trans pans, master cylinders, fuel tanks, diff covers. It sucks. They hack all the hoses too. All in an effort to drain stuff. Then you pull the trans and a gallon of tranny soup goes everywhere except on the lil diaper they gave you. Oh well it's cheap. Then I drag it home, weld up the holes and run it. That's my style.
And wow what a score on that rear end.

Best thing lately was a full suspension/brakes/center diff out of a 2005 WRX STI...crummy junkyard in the middle of nowhere

I've actually only went and got the parts I've needed, mostly minor interior pieces. But now that I have an F-body I'm going to head out and get a few things. When it stops snowing

Saw a Edelbrock intake for a TBI motor, SBC vortec heads and a few K&N CAI for misc cars.

Tetanus, lots of that.
