What year CTS-V are you considering? What is the budget here?

If you're looking at the V2 (LSA), that's a no-brainer. If you're looking at the V1 (LS2 or LS6), then it is a tougher decision.

If you have the budget for a V2 and want a package that's ready right off the showroon flow, it's tough to go wrong with that.

If you're debating V1 vs. G8 the first thing to consider would be whether or not it has to be a manual transmission. If that's the case, the V1 and rare G8 GXP are your only options (short of a transmission swap).

If you're comfortable with an automatic, you're actually going to need to split hairs a bit more to decide between the V1 and G8 GT. In that instance, I'll shut up and defer to the recommendations of those who actually own them.

Great rundown. While I've owned neither, I'd have to recommend the V over the G8 just for repair reasons. The G8 is a rebadged Holden, so body parts are going to be rare. V parts should be easier to come by. That and Cadillac is still around, so...

G8 is still a great car though.
