SHipping a crate LS1, what is the WEIGHT?
An old GF of mine spun a bearing inher otherwise MINT 01 LS1.....
She calls me and asks if I want it (I'm like HEAL YEAH, clean the crank a lil bit and forge that bitch )
I don't tell her that though lol...
Anyway, the Chevy dealership is in VA, and the guy who crated it up is estimating that the motor (minus the h20 pump) is anywhere from 5-600 lbs...
Again this is an assembled motor (pan to intake, minus h20 pump)....
Does 5-600 lbs sound right? I figured it was more like 3-400 AT MOST plus like 50 for crate....AM I way off?
THANKS
Erik

i would say around that ball park, kinda depends on the crate they use too, bare block with just the internals are around 160 to 180 i due believe. i just shipped out my stock motor to a guy in texas and im from michigan which was just the bare block with internals, and he said it was costing him like 160 to 200 bucks for shipping.
