Default Whats a fair asking price for my car?

Im thinking about selling my car because I am moving and would need the extra cash to finish out college and pay for my house. My mods are in my sig and the stripes are gone. I have y2k vette wheels.

I would say start around 11-12 and see what happens, If you have the means I would put it back to stock, you will probally get the most out of the car goin that route

I would part it out. You will sell it for more stock plus make about $1000+ on the used performance parts. You would be able to get more if the car was an M6. You will get more if you have leather and power seats, windows, door locks, mirrors, etc. You should be able to get between 9000-12000 for the car depending on condition.

Here is a link to a green 1999 Z28 on Autotrader with 78k on it for $8995: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=1&cardist=913

If you want to sell me the MSD coils PM me a price and pictures. Perhaps I could send you the stock coils plus some cash in exchange for the MSD coils depending on how many miles you have on them. Let me know. Good luck with the sale.

NADA low retail is $7325, clean retail value is $8650 and high retail is $9550. This is with aluminum wheels, leather seats, power seat and t-tops. Hope this helps. NADA is usually more accurate than Kelly Blue Book.

Just for reference I bought my 1999 Black 6-speed hardtop Camaro Z28 with 48k miles two years ago for $10,000.

There is less than 2k miles on all the mods. I think 10k would be fair. I bought the car for 7500 2 years ago and since then put over 3k in it with me doing all the work. It also has a rebuilt tranny.

You would sell it pretty quick for 8500-10000 (cheaper obviously goes quicker)

Somewhere 8-9.5K. Going to need a cash buyer more than likely since financing a 9 year old vehicle, over 60k miles, and from a private seller is likely not get approved from a bank. Even if that a ridiculous interest rate. As always you never get your money back from mods, some return not all. Good luck with your sell.

If you want to get rid of the MSD coil packs let me know once you decide to part out the aftermarket stuff on the car.

Sell with the mods in which would more likely net you more gain as when i was (still) looking for an F body, one requirement was headers as i did not want to install or buy them again.

Default Probably around $6,500 to $6,800 is a fair asking price if the car is nice...

Edmunds is usually pretty good.

http://www.edmunds.com/used/1998/ch...43/options.html

Private party is around $5,800. If the car has a lot of options and is in excellent condition, the maybe around $7,200 max.

Dealer Retail asking price for a 98 is around $7,200

Asking price in part depends on how fast you want to sell the car.

Check local listings, ebay, autotrader, stuff like that in your area. Just because KBB (ugh)/NADA says you should be getting $xxxxx whatever, doesn't mean that's the going price. Sure people definitely take that into consider but honestly, I do not think people do with our cars. It seems they go anywhere from $8k-$14k, mostly depending on mileage, of course steals are out there. I would try listing it on the forum and seeing if you can get somewhere around $9k taking into consideration what kind of overall the car is, as it sits. I think this way you can find someone who appreciates your mods and may be willing to understand them better, meaning pay a bit more. But understand you rarely get money you put into a car back. If no luck here, I'd get it as close to stock as possibly and list it locally. Good luck with the sale, sucks you have to sell it though.

Realistically you are in the $7,000-$7,500 range for a quick sale. $8,000 if you can wait for awhile.
