I've owned a supercharged LT1 camaro and I currently own LS1 camaro with nitrous and a 430rwhp 03 Z06 and without a doubt the vette is the best overall, although I prefer the camaro for the strip. But if you can get one, without a doubt the best is the vette, but this is not really a fair comparison because the vette and the f-bodies are really not in the same class.

I think by Firebird he is including everything from Formula to WS6, just like he only mentioned Camaro and Corvette and didn't go with a specific one. Formulas, TAs, WS6s etc are all Firebirds.
