modding decisions
i am looking to mod my new completely bone stock WS6. not looking to spend a ton of money [YET], but i would spend a pretty penny or two.
everyone always says you need information on future plans/goals for the car. well, heres mine:
within a couple years i would like to be at 500rwhp, not looking for massive power right off the bat but by the end of summer i want to have a 9" and some DRs. low 12's to high 11's by the end of this year.
my choices are:
1.)complete fuel system
2.)ms4 package from TSP
3.)headers/ true duals
4.)make up your own ($1500 or around there tops)

Well, IMO, start off with the basics. Get the car to breathe. Also, is that 500hp going to be at all F/I? BUT, Before you do any big jumps in power, you need to get the power to the ground. Start looking at suspension and chassis mods. Plus you want a 9". So plan ahead for these mods because some are specific for the 9". Do your research and then research again. Do things once not twice.

This is the route I'm taking
LTs, O/R Y, CB, Lid, ECO,FTRA & maybe a UDP
Then Full Stano Stage 4 Kit [ hopefully they're in stock ]
Then UMI LCAs, Relocation Brakets, ADJ PHB, STB , 3 Point SFCs, TRQ ARM w/Relocation
Then a 12 bolt [ I'm A4 ]
Trans...then I'll look into the engine and fuel, etc

i would get fuel system off the list right now. the stock setup is plenty capable of supporting 450rwhp, other than injectors.
definatly need to get the basics out of the way.
easier air in....SSRA and lid, you can decide if you want to do the FAST 90/90 now or wait. otherwise you can stick with the stock intake for now.
easier exhaust out.....LTs, and duals are a GREAT choice
power to the ground...suspension....sfc, lca, brackets, torque arm

I went Lid,Longtubes, and Texas speed duals.
Port your throttle body yourself, its very easy and sorta fun.
Depending on the year of your car, if you have a 01-02 then you dont need an intake.
If you can install everything yourself, then buy a camkit, install it, and a tune should be around $400-500 which is necessary with bigger camshafts.

I know everyone wants to jump in and make big power right away. Unfortunately, it's best to do the small things first. Bolt-ons are your friends.
Lid ($100)
Headers + whatever exhaust setup you choose ($800 or more)
Used LS6 intake for 98-00 F-bodies ($300-ish)
etc...
Out of the options you listed, I would go with the headers and true duals first.

honestly, i would do the basic bolt ons like lid, longtube heads, ory, catback exhaust. and maybe a few suspension mods or to...then honestly i would do the tranny upgrade and converter before the cam. the MS4 is a big a$$ cam for a daily driver and youll really need high rpm's to make that cam shine.

well, there is a reason that most do intake and exhaust first.....
If you get the car breathing right you will be able to feel the difference when you upgrade the rest.... also its nice to have a bit of a rumble.
my suggestions;
headers
exhaust
fast toys ram air kit
intake lid
im running a 4:10 in my M6 bird. 6th gear is such a granny that you rarely have to wind it out cruising.. very comfortable, and the only negative on fuel economy is because you cant keep your foot out of it!
