What would you do?
I recently bought back my 98 z28 3k less than what I sold it for a few months ago (5 Grand), except the turbo setup is gone. It has a stock LS6 in it right now with about 7k miles on it, and is pretty damn peppy for being "stock" gets good MPG, and is completely paid off.
I do know that these cars are quickly depreciating in value, so I'm technically losing money sitting on it. BUT I do like the car a HELL of a lot more than my current ride.
I'm getting brand new Patriot heads, a 9", and a cam with the car (springs etc also) but are not installed, actually all are still in the box.
I have a car right now to DD, which I'm paying 300/month on including insurance and payments.
My question I pose to you is, in my situation...
Sell the parts, and current DD, and drive the Z28 as it sits stock and put the money in savings/investments. The car still made 364rwhp "stock" so it would be pretty damn peppy.
Sell the parts AND the z28, and continue making payments on a car, but have the larger chunk of cash invested/saved.
Keep everything, and mod the hell out of the Z for a weekend toy. (mind you I'm on my bike most of the time it's nice outside.)
I'm currently leaning toward DD it stock to alleviate a payement, what do you all think? Thanks for the read and help!

maybe just install the 9 inch this way the car is pretty much bulletproof as a DD, and then if you drive it in the winter, sell your current DD to alleviate the payment and then invest that nice hunk of cash for a house or something sweet down the road...just my 2 cents...

its never a bad idea to save/invest money. keep the Z28 and drive it stock, maybe a few mods here and there. take that 300 a month and invest it into something. then a little ways down the road you can always use that money for something better.

Keep the Camaro as your weekend car, keep your DD (or get a cheaper one), and sell the Bike.
That's what I would do. But I'm not at all interested in bikes, so that'd be easy for me to part with.

Getting rid of the bike is out of the question, I'll take it over a fast car any day of the week lol.
I drove the GT in the snow this year, so driving the Camaro in the snow is not completely out of the question. Now if I modded it at all, hell no. lol.

364rwhp and good gas mileage that sounds like it would be my choice for the dd.
then dump the car payment and put $300 a month to a strip only car or build an LS1 conversion car. or not, $300 a month buys six tanks of gas.

That's what I wanted to do originally, was take the LS6 out and put it in and FD or something. But the cost of that would be pretty high (I'm looking to buy a house possibly this summer?) finish school sometime in the next 20 years and still have some cash to put back for my retirement down the road.
I'm thinking I'm just going to DD the car. Hell, 364rwhp is nothing slow anyhow by any means. Just sucks when I could have a much faster H/C car for no more out of my pocket (unless you consider I wouldn't be gaining the $ from selling it.) If I do that though I'll be in the same situation of needing a DD I'm paying on.
Wish the DSM's weren't so damn unreliable. I'd pick up one of those and mod it, and still be able to drive it year round without a car payment. I'd thought about doing the same by selling all I have now except the bike and picking up a Stealth RT.

Yeah, I just hate to have 2 cars. There really is no sense. I would love to do that, but financially it just doesn't make sense to me.
By the way, if you couldn't tell. I'm a ******* cheap *** mother ******. lol I don't like parting with my money if I don't feel I have to. Besides I think I'm pretty set on buying another bike I'm not sure what yet. Depends if I can get rid of this one soon enough and have one lined up so I don't lose any riding time.
