If you dont know for sure where it is, then id clean i real good with a pressure washer and degreaser and then drive it for a short time and then locate the leak, I just changed my oil pan 2 days ago, not as bad as everyone says, took me about 5 hours (first time). But if its your rear main, youll have to drop the trans

Make sure you dont over torque the pan bolts or you'll crack it

Before you start on it, I recommend that you take a peek into the side of the trans by removing the starter. If you see oil in the upper walls of the trans casing, it would likely be the rear main seal.

yea what crimsonnaire said. i just changed my rear seal. do yourself a favor and find out where its leacking. pulling the starter will give you the answer. i cant see how a cam swap would make either of the 2 leak tho. i would say its the rear seal but ive been wrong before.

id like to know also, i have a horrible oil pan leak (at least im pretty sure its the oil pan)

i dont want to spend $50 and 5 hours replacing it if it is the rear main

my problem is that there was always a small oil leak on the car, but it got way worse after i replaced the rear main.. BUT the oil pan bolts were tightened down a tiny bit, and after i got the trans and everything back in, i have this leak
